Childcare support

Head Start and Early Head Start What It Offers: Federally funded programs providing free or low-cost early education and childcare services to low-income families. They also offer health, nutrition, and parental support services. Eligibility: Based on income and family size. Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF) What It Offers: A federal program that provides childcare subsidies for low-income families. Managed by state agencies, it helps cover costs for childcare providers. Eligibility: Income-based; parents must be working or attending school. YMCA Childcare Programs What It Offers: Many YMCA locations offer sliding-scale fees for childcare services, including after-school programs and summer camps. Boys & Girls Clubs of America What It Offers: Offers affordable after-school and summer programs for children, including tutoring, activities, and meals. Parent Aware: What it offers: Helps find childcare near you and provides financial aid to those in need. It also provides resources for special needs children and other special circumstances.

Diapers, Formula, Clothing

Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) What It Offers: Provides free formula, baby food, and nutritional assistance for low-income pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and children under five. Some WIC offices may also offer referrals for diaper and clothing assistance. Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) What It Offers: Offers financial assistance to purchase food, which can include baby formula. While SNAP cannot be used to buy diapers, it can free up funds for other essentials. National Diaper Bank Network (NDBN) What It Offers: A network of diaper banks across the U.S. that provide free diapers to families in need. Visit their website to find a local diaper bank. Feeding America What It Offers: Food banks within the Feeding America network often distribute baby formula and food. Check with your local food bank for availability. Baby2Baby What It Offers: Provides diapers, clothing, and other essentials to children living in poverty through partnerships with local agencies, including shelters and food banks. Goodwill and Salvation Army What They Offer: Provide affordable or free baby and children's clothing through thrift stores and donation programs. Some locations also distribute emergency supplies. Churches and Religious Organizations What They Offer: Many churches and religious charities offer free or low-cost diapers, formula, and clothing as part of their community outreach programs. Examples include Catholic Charities and Lutheran Social Services. United Way 211 What It Offers: Dial 211 or visit the United Way website to find local resources for diapers, formula, and clothing assistance.

Contraceptives

Planned Parenthood: Many Planned Parenthood locations provide free or low-cost contraception, including birth control pills, IUDs, implants, patches, and emergency contraception. Costs are often based on income, and Medicaid or other insurance may cover the services. https://www.plannedparenthood.org/learn/birth-control Title X Family Planning Clinics: Federally funded clinics that provide free or affordable contraception, as well as related services like STI testing and pregnancy counseling. These clinics are income-based and available to both insured and uninsured individuals. (Specific to location) National Womens Health Network: Resources and referrals for affordable birth control and women’s health services. Medicaid Medicaid typically covers a wide range of contraceptives, including pills, IUDs, and implants, at no cost to the patient. Eligibility varies by state. Affordable Care Act (ACA) Insurance Plans Most ACA-compliant health insurance plans cover all FDA-approved contraceptive methods without copay or out-of-pocket costs.

The network consists of local abortion funds across the U.S. that cater to specific regions. Some locations have partnerships with local abortion funds to reduce costs. Access Reproductice Care Southeast https://arc-southeast.org/get-abortion-assistance/ * Specializes in funding abortion care and covering travel expenses for individuals in Southeastern U.S. states, where abortion restrictions are stricter. Abortion Care Network https://abortioncarenetwork.org/ Helps independent abortion providers stay open by funding operational costs and offering financial assistance for patients who cannot afford care.
